Toshiba Announces First Glasses-free 3D Laptop

9 Aug, 2011 By: Chris Tribbey

This month Toshiba will release the first glasses-free 3D laptop, the Qosmio F755.

Retailing for $1,700, the laptop features a 15.6-inch screen and can display both 3D and 2D content simultaneously. The laptop’s built-in webcam reacts to the motion and position of the viewer, delivering a broad 3D viewing zone, Toshiba said. Users can convert standard 2D video content to 3D with one click.

“The unique capabilities of the laptop’s 3D display make enjoying 3D content both convenient and hassle-free,” said Carl Pinto, VP of product development for Toshiba America Information Systems.

The laptop includes a Blu-ray Disc drive and a 750 GB hard drive, and can output video in 1080p.
