Dove Channel Launching Original Talk Show22 Jan, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Dove Channel, Cinedigm’s faith-based subscription streaming service, is bowing an original talk show called 'Frankly Faraci.'
Hosted by motivational speaker Matthew Faraci, the show focuses on stories of faithful personalities in entertainment, music, and sports who are doing positive work and bringing good into the culture.
The $4.99 Dove Channel targets the faith and family audience, offering mainstream movies, independent films and documentaries, to TV series and children’s programs — including about 300 homeschool titles. Programming is rated by The Dove Foundation, which ranks programs on sexuality, language, violence, drug and alcohol use, nudity, and other factors, to ensure appropriate programming for families.
“[The show] is a totally new kind of [talk] show where viewers can go behind-the-scenes with well-known people of faith and hear why they do what they do,” said Erick Opeka, EVP of digital networks at Cinedigm. Opeka is also executive producer of “Frankly Faraci.”
“Viewers are going to connect with Matthew; he’s an energetic, hilarious father of four. He is the perfect host for this show,” he added.
The original program comes on the heels of Apple TV making the Dove Channel app available on the App Store. Dove Channel, along with CONtv and Docurama, had about 3.1 million combined app downloads, 570,000 registered users and approximately 76,000 active subscribers as of Sept. 30, 2016, according to Cinedigm.
