Adobe Launches Video Content Platform

Adobe Feb. 27 unveiled Project Primetime, a video technology platform aimed at offering a TV-like experience for ad-supported videos across all major platforms, including Apple, Android, desktops and connected TVs.

Primetime connects Adobe streaming technologies and content protection to enable video providers to give consumers ad-supported video, including linear, live and VOD.

“Adobe’s new video technology platform is transforming the way video content and ads are being served and consumed,” said David Wadhwani, SVP of Adobe’s digital media business. “Project Primetime gives media companies one solution to deliver and monetize their content seamlessly across tablets, mobile phones, TVs and PCs while delivering better consumer experiences over IP.”

The service currently is being showcased to media companies and broadcasters, and will roll out through 2012 to Windows, Apple, Android and Samsung products.
