Report: TV Services Cost Rises 4%

By the end of November the cost of pay-TV services had risen 4% year-over-year to an average of $74.10, according to new research by Centris.

Fiber-based customers saw the biggest annual jump, 15% to $99.67, while satellite customers saw a 12% jump to $76.80. Cable prices dropped 1% to $69.70.

Consumers are spending 2% more on Internet ($46) but 2% less on cellphone service ($92.30).

In terms of household budgets, communication services took of 70% of reported spending, with pay-TV services accounting for the other 30%.
