Research says Disney Online No.1 Family Site

Disney Online led 2008 as the No. 1 kids entertainment and family community site in average monthly unique visitors and average monthly video, according to comScore Media Metrix. In 2008 the site averaged 28.9 million monthly unique visitors, and in August it reached an all-time high, with 32.3 unique monthly visitors.

Disney also had strong growth in its mobile Web site, with an average monthly increase of 50% in page views since its launch in October 2007. The mobile site streams more than 1.5 million minutes of audio and generates 68,000 custom character greetings. 

Popular Disney full-length streams such as The Wonderful World of Disney and Camp Rock contributed to Disney’s rise, while more timely specials such as Kid’s Inaugural: We Are the Future were also contributing factors.

Disney.com will also release High School Musical 3: The Making of a Musical on Feb. 16. The special is a 35-minute behind-the scenes look at all the music from the movie phenomenon.
