Warner Freezes Sales of Three Titles6 Aug, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
In anticipation of Blu-ray Disc releases, North American sales of three top-selling Warner Home Video titles will be frozen starting Sept. 4.
The moratorium for Caddyshack, The Exorcist and Doctor Zhivago includes VOD, electronic delivery and DVD, as all three titles will see a 2010 Blu-ray release. The Exorcist will also get a special edition DVD release.
“As the saying goes, ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder,’” said Jeff Baker, Warner’s EVP and GM of theatrical catalog. “We know film fans will be eagerly awaiting the return in 2010 of these iconic films. And we’re going to make it worth the wait, with beautiful remastered prints, recovered previously lost footage, and exciting new bonus content all with the latest Blu-ray technology.”
