‘Friends’ Remastered for Blu-ray

Warner Home Video has remastered all 236 episodes of “Friends” in high-definition and plans to release the complete series on Blu-ray Disc Nov. 13 (order date Oct. 9).

“Friends” ran from 1994 to 2004 on NBC and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer as a group of friends carving out a life in Manhattan. Guest stars included Tom Selleck, Aisha Tyler, Jon Favreau, Anna Faris, Hank Azaria, Bruce Willis, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Applegate, Sean Penn, Jon Lovitz and Alec Baldwin.

The 21-disc set will include more than 20 hours of bonus material, including three hours of all-new extras, including “True Friends: Documentaries,” featuring a series of retrospectives on the legacy of the series.

Other new extras include original extended broadcast episodes, the cast on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2004 and “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” in 2005, a rare gag reel, the music video for theme song “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts, and an original producer’s cut and script for the episode “The One Where Rachel Tells Ross.”

Friends: The Complete Series comes packaged in a lenticular box cover with a hardcover book and 32-page episode guide, and is listed at $279.98.
