Universal Studios Home Entertainment is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the critically acclaimed Schindler’s List by bowing the film on Blu-ray for the first time March 5.
The Schindler’s List: 20th Anniversary Limited Edition combo pack includes a BD, DVD, digital copy and UltraViolet, and is listed at $34.98.
“Schindler’s List is a rare masterpiece of filmmaking that remains as riveting and moving today as it was for moviegoers 20 years ago,” said Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. “It stands as a powerful reminder of the heroism and humanity of those willing to stand up against intolerance.”
Schindler’s List chronicles Oskar Schindler (portrayed by Liam Neeson), a member of the Nazi party who risked his own life to save more than 1,100 Jews in Poland during the Holocaust. Ralph Fiennes stars as the brutal Nazi commander Amon Goeth, and Ben Kingsley as Schindler’s Jewish accountant, Itzhak Stern.
Fiennes was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role at the 1993 Academy Awards. Schindler’s List earned 12 Oscar nominations and seven wins, including Best Director and Best Picture for Director Steven Spielberg.
Bonus materials include the “Voices from the List” featurette, which includes testimonies from those who survived the Holocaust, thanks to Schindler, and “USC Shoah Foundation Story with Steven Spielberg,” in which the director shares what prompted him to establish the USC Shoah Foundation: The Institute for Visual History and Education, which is approaching its 20th anniversary.
