‘E.T.’ Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Theater Screenings

This fall the magical modern classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will return to the big screen in celebration of its 30th anniversary. 

Presented by NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures as part of Universal’s 100th anniversary celebration, Oct. 3, movie theater audiences nationwide will once again get the opportunity to experience Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece in its all-new digitally remastered form.  

The event will be presented using new digital cinema projection systems in more than 560 select movie theaters around the country. 

Tickets are available at participating theater box offices and online at the NCM Fathom Events website.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebration Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray Oct. 9.  The $34.98 Blu-ray features an all-new, digitally remastered picture and 7.1 surround sound. It includes the 1982 theatrical movie, an all-new interview with Spielberg and “The E.T. Journals,” presenting never-before-seen footage from the set of the film.

An anniversary edition DVD retails for $19.98.
