Film Movement Partners With Tugg on Local Movie Screenings23 Oct, 2012 By: Sean Viele
Film Movement’s movies soon will be available to U.S. audiences through the collective-action Web platform Tugg Inc.
Tugg allows individuals to choose the films that play in their local theaters. Audience members select the movie, screening time and local theater then spread the word to their immediate and online community.
Once the required amount of people commit to attending, the event is confirmed and Tugg reserves the theater, manages ticketing and ensures delivery of the film.
Film Movement, which distributes first-run independent and foreign films in the United States and Canada, will initially add 15 of its arthouse films to Tugg’s library, both new releases and catalogue titles.
Among those first releases will be the German-Israeli documentary Hitler’s Children, which follows the lives of the descendants and godchildren of prominent Nazi commanders, including Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler and Herman Goering.
