Westinghouse Digital Introduces Roku-Ready HDTV19 Jun, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey
Consumer electronics company Westinghouse Digital will debut a new, Roku-enabled 50-inch LED HDTV June 26, along with a full line-up of LED 4K Ultra HD sets.
The LED HDTV allows users to plug in a Roku Streaming Stick, the flash drive-sized device that enables the Roku content streaming platform. Westinghouse did not disclose the price of the model.
“Westinghouse Digital believes that there is a tremendous future in the connected TV market, but we must protect the consumer against obsolescence,” said Rey Roque, SVP of marketing at Westinghouse Digital. “The American public is getting very tired of buying all kinds of new technology built into smart TVs only to discover that the features are outdated two years from now. With the Roku Streaming Stick, consumers can access our 700 channels in an easily upgradeable platform. They no longer have to spend hundreds of extra dollars to get the latest HDTV with streaming options.”
