Rentrak June 13 said it inked a disc rental revenue-sharing agreement with Anderson Merchandisers.
Through the deal, Rentrak will begin offering rev-share deals for DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles from Anderson subsidiary Arc Entertainment.
Portland, Ore.-based Rentrak, which proactively has created a data measurement business, continues to facilitate bread-and-butter rev-share deals between studios, distributors and independent video stores. Indeed, Rentrak generated $15.7 million, or 63.5% of its most recent quarterly revenue, from disc revenue-sharing agreements
Florance, Ala.-based Anderson distributes music, DVDs, books, magazines and related consumer brands through more than 3,500 retailers.
“As Anderson Merchandisers expands into licensed content distribution, initially with Arc Entertainment, working with Rentrak to reach key retailers in the rental market was a top priority,” said Mathew Smith, SVP of video purchasing, with Anderson. “Rentrak’s revenue-sharing program is an ideal solution that allows us to stock more rental titles in multiple retail locations.”
