Time Warner Gets Time Inc. CFO

Time Warner July 22 named Howard Averill to become CFO Jan. 1 when John Martin vacates the position to become CEO of Turner Broadcasting Systems.
Averill, who is the current CFO of Time Inc., will report to CEO Jeff Bewkes in New York.
In addition overseeing Time’s financial functions, Averill has global responsibility for the magazine’s IT, fulfillment and production operations. In his new position, Averill will help Bewkes implement strategy at Warner Bros., which is headed by Kevin Tsujihara.
“Howard has been an exemplary leader and a stabilizing force at Time Inc. through a period of tremendous change. His financial acumen, sound judgment and broad understanding of our businesses will be an asset to Time Warner’s management team and our company,” Bewkes said in a statement.
