With her bike-riding skills and her fighting prowess, Jukkalan is badass. She looks like an average tomboyish girl, working as a bike messenger. But she’s a force that can take on 10 men at a time. And she does just that with just her fists and her bike.

Jukkalan finds her hands full and her life in danger after delivering smuggled goods for some gangsters.

In between throwing punches and kicks at the bad guys, she tries to get the attention of Pong, her musician neighbor who she’s been crushing on, while her childhood friend, Duan, is trying to woo her.

And Uncle Wang is the good-hearted, sensible guy to whom everyone turns for help. He runs a legit video store and, at one point, goes on a tirade about movie and music piracy — something rampant in Thailand — that sounded like it could have been written by the Motion Picture Association of America.

With such serious themes, this actioner from Thailand is anything but that.

The fight scenes are long and over-the-top, and the characters more eccentric than anyone could think up. There’s the gangster with the strangely high-pitched voice and his boxing gym of little people, the paunchy guy with long eyebrows who wears little clothing and rides around on a plush toy horse and, of course, there’s the sexy villainess in a schoolgirl uniform.

The ending is happy one, but it doesn’t matter much as it’s more about the action-packed fight scenes and the cool bike stunts that make this film fun.

Don’t forget to keep watching as the end credits roll. There are some funny bloopers to watch.
