'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' Stomps to Disc Oct. 20
20 Aug, 2009 By: Stephanie PrangeTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the No. 1 box office hit of the year ($397 million domestic and counting) from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, will storm retail shelves Oct. 20 on DVD and Blu-ray two-disc special editions and a single-disc DVD.
The two-disc special editions ($24.99 DVD; $29.99 Blu-ray) include commentary by director Michael Bay, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman; a making-of documentary; a featurette on the Hasbro franchise; an examination of the special effects; extended scenes; and a music video of Linkin Park's "New Divide." Blu-ray exclusive extras include "The Allspark Experiment," in which viewers can transform vehicles; history, pictures and other information about the Transformers characters; and an interactive feature that gives viewers the ability to customize their own robot characters, one of which will unlock an exclusive interview with Bay about his plans for the next adventure.
The two-disc editions also will feature augmented reality technology that will allow owners to interact with a holographic image of Optimus Prime utilizing their webcams and a special Web site. Fans will be asked to piece together the Matrix of Leadership to bring him back to life, help repair his armor and calibrate his weapons by actually controlling his aim during target practice.
The single-disc DVD is $19.99.
Paramount Home Entertainment has set an order date of Sept. 8.
