BluFocus to Verify Compliance for UltraViolet20 Jan, 2014 By: Erik Gruenwedel
BluFocus, a Los Angeles-based tester and certifier of consumer electronics, has signed an agreement with the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE), to act as the administrator for the latter’s UltraViolet compliance verification program (CVP).
DECE is responsible for the design, development and operation of UltraViolet, the digital rights authentication ecosystem that allows consumers buy and store their home entertainment collections in the cloud.
The goal of the CVP is to verify that UV licensee implementations are conforming with key mandatory requirements explicitly defined in the technical specifications and compliance rules. BluFocus’ role will be to manage, test and qualify licensee implementations based upon these sets of documented tests and test procedures.
“This addition is a natural progression for our company as we continue to help qualify home entertainment products and technologies so users can have a good and consistent experience,” BluFocus CEO Paulette Pantoja said in a statement.
BluFocus joined DECE in 2012.
”BluFocus has been a valued member of the DECE consortium that designed UltraViolet, as well as a source of testing and QA support for companies implementing UltraViolet” said Mark Teitell, DECE GM.
