'Home Media' to Host UltraViolet Webinar

12 Mar, 2013 By: Angelique Flores

Home Media Magazine is hosting a free live webinar with the latest updates on UltraViolet.

UltraViolet, the cloud-based digital licensing system for movies and other studio-produced content, is burnishing its shine. In addition to being backed by most of the major studios and numerous consumer electronic companies, the platform has gathered retail support from Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Redbox Instant and others.

This webinar will address how this “buy once, play anywhere” service, which was featured at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is gaining ground with consumers.

“The concept of a cloud-based digital storage locker that gives consumers instant access to purchased content anywhere, at any time, on any device is probably one of Hollywood’s brightest ideas, ever,” said Thomas K. Arnold, publisher of Home Media Magazine. “Our industry needs to unify and collaborate our efforts to ensure that UltraViolet continues with its success.”

The webinar will explore more about the platform, who’s involved and supporting it, and where consumers stand with UltaViolet.

Speakers include Stephanie Prange, editor-in-chief for Home Media Magazine, and Rich Marty, VP of marketing for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The webinar is scheduled for March 26 at 11 a.m. (PT). To register, visit .
