HBO Go Available on PS4; Showtime Anytime on Dish

HBO March 3 announced that its HBO Go app finally is available for Sony’s PlayStation 4 video game system — more than a year after the launch of the next-generation console.

Separately, Dish Network announced that Showtime Anytime, the premium channel’s app, is now available to authenticated satellite TV subscribers.

After authenticating the PS4 with a current cable/satellite service through HBOGO.com/activate, users can watch every episode of every season of HBO shows, including “True Detective,” “Silicon Valley” and “Game of Thrones.”  The season five premiere of “Thrones” airs April 12.

No explanation was given for the delayed HBO Go access on PS4. The HBO TV Everywhere app has been available on Xbox One since last year. Last December, it also became available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV streaming media devices.
