Vubiquity Inks Digital Distribution Deal with Midwest Cable Operator

24 Jun, 2015 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Wide Open West (WOW!), the Denver-based ninth-largest cable operator in the United States, June 24 announced it signed a digital distribution agreement with Vubiquity.

Under the terms of the four-year deal, Los Angeles-based Vubiquity will facilitate digital distribution of new-release movies, VOD and HD content to WOW!’s 606,000 video subscribers.

Vubiquity, which is headed by former Warner Bros. executive Darcy Antonellis, markets itself as a conduit linking content owners with emerging digital platforms, including rental, sellthrough, and ad-supported and subscription-based business models.

Specifically, WOW! will use Vubiquity’s app — IntelliVU — enabling it to track digital distribution of its content, assets and performance.

“Our goal is to make sure we support clients to take advantage of evolving technologies,” Gabriel Berger, EVP of sales at Vubiquity, said in a statement.
