20,000-plus Movie Clips Headed to YouTube
9 Aug, 2011 By: Chris TribbeyMovieClips.com, which offers ad-supported movie clips searchable by movie, actor and “mood,” will have its 20,000-plus licensed clips available on YouTube, thanks to a partnership announced Aug. 9.
The high-def clips will be available via youtube.com/movies and youtube.com/movieclips. The agreement comes after MovieClips secured $7 million in financing from MK Capital.
“Our goal is to promote the discovery of movies,” said MovieClips co-founder Richard Raddon. “By making our clips accessible on the biggest video platform on the Web, we unlock the power of movie clips to promote feature film purchase and rental.”
Camille Hearst, YouTube’s product marketing manager for movies, said the agreement would make it easier for viewers to search for movie scenes and share them in a legal way.
“There’s a sea of content that can add to a YouTube user's movie experience, thanks to Movieclips.com,” she said.
