Hero-Villain Relationships Explored in 'Batman and Harley Quinn'

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the next DC Universe original animated movie, Batman and Harley Quinn, on Digital HD Aug. 15, and on Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 29. There will also be a Blu-ray gift set with a Harley Quinn figurine.

Fathom Events will host a one-night screening of the film Aug. 14 in theaters nationwide at 7:30 p.m. local time.  Attendees at the screening will also see a featurette spotlighting Harley Quinn.

The 30th DC Universe animated movie will feature Batman and Nightwing teaming up with Harley Quinn to stop Poison Ivy and her ecological ally, The Floronic Man, from setting off a global catastrophe.

The cast includes “Batman: The Animated Series” stars Kevin Conroy as Batman and Loren Lester as Nightwing, plus Melissa Rauch (“The Big Bang Theory”) making her debut as Harley Quinn, Paget Brewster as Poison Ivy and Kevin Michael Richardson as The Floronic Man.

Sam Liu directs from an original story by Bruce Timm, with a script by Timm and Jim Krieg.

Blu-ray and digital extras include featurettes “The Harley Effect,” which looks at the history of Harley Quinn, and “Loren Lester: In His Own Voice,” which looks at the actor’s history voicing Dick Grayson through various shows and movies. Also included will be bonus Harley episodes from “Batman: The Animated Series” “Harley and Ivy” and “Harley’s Holiday.” The Blu-ray and DVD will also include a preview of the next DC Universe original movie.
