Sony Electronics Adds DTS Audio to TV Line

Sony Electronics will integrate DTS audio solutions into its flat-panel HDTVs worldwide, thanks to a new agreement.
The addition of Sony now has DTS audio featured in the world’s top three HDTV companies, and eight of the top 10.
“DTS is committed to developing technologies that enable any network connected device to deliver a more thrilling and immersive audio experience,” said Brian Towne, EVP and COO of DTS. “Our alliance with Sony will enable the delivery of superior sound to Sony’s TV customers, allowing them to experience truly enveloping HD-quality audio directly from their TV’s built-in speakers.”
The integration will allow owners of Sony HDTVs to hear DTS encoded content directly through the TV’s built-in speakers, without the need for additional decoding equipment.
