Projections: 'Turtles' Sequel Trying to Take Over Disc Sales Charts

Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will battle for the top spot on the home video charts the week ending Sept. 25 with the reigning champ, Disney's Captain America: Civil War.

The latest "Turtles" film grossed $82.05 million domestically, well short of its predecessor, but should draw from a big enough fan base to generate healthy disc sales in its first week.

Its primary competition in that regard will be a second week for Disney's Captain America: Civil War disc, which debuted a week earlier at No. 1 by a wide margin.

Also looking to make a strong debut is another sequel, Universal's Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, which similarly underperformed at the domestic box office when compared with the first film.

On the rental chart, Out of the Shadows is set to debut at No. 1, while Universal's The Huntsman: Winter's War is looking to move into a top chart spot after coming off a 28-day holdback at Redbox kiosks.
