Projections: 'Star Wars' Should Repeat as Top Seller
18 Apr, 2016 By: John Latchem
The new home video releases April 12 are unlikely to unseat Star Wars: The Force Awakens from the top spot on the disc sales charts. The sci-fi film is coming off a week in which it outsold every other title in the top 20 combined by a factor of five, and doesn't face much major new competition.
The top contenders for the week are Universal's horror-thriller The Forest, which grossed $26.6 million in theaters, and Warner's direct-to-video animated actioner Justice League vs. Teen Titans.
On the rental chart, Unviersal's Sisters looks to come off its month-long holdback at Redbox rental kiosks to take over the top spot.
