Projections: No Contest for 'Batman v Superman'
25 Jul, 2016 By: John Latchem
Warner's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice should easily overwhelm the competition on the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts the week ending July 24. Given the highly publicized arrival of an extended cut of the film on the Blu-ray version, sales of the superhero flick will tilt heavily toward the high-definition version, likely around 60% to 70%.
The week of the BvS also saw the release of several low-profile titles on disc that are likely to be overshadowed by holdover titles such as Lionsgate's Allegiant and Sony Pictures' Miracles From Heaven.
On the rental chart, Universal's London Has Fallen has picked up some momentum and should move into the top spot, pushing Allegiant to No. 2.
