Walt Disney Studios’ latest animated hit from Pixar, Cars 3, easily topped the NPD VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended Nov. 11.

Among unit sales for Cars 3, Blu-ray Disc accounted for 76% while 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray was responsible for 4% of the total.

The sequel, which earned $152.9 million at the domestic box office, is the latest summer hit to make its way to disc and debut as the No. 1 seller.

The previous week's top title, Sony Pictures’ The Dark Tower, based on the Stephen King book series, dropped to No. 2 overall, selling 15.5% as many units in its second week as Cars 3 did in its first. Dark Tower was No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart.

No. 3 overall, and No. 2 on the Blu-ray chart, was Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Homecoming, in its fourth week on the charts.

No. 4 overall, and No. 5 on the Blu-ray chart, was 20th Century Fox's War for the Planet of the Apes.

Rounding out the top five was Warner's Wonder Woman, at No. 5 overall and No. 3 on the Blu-ray chart.

On Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week ended Nov. 12, War for the Planet of the Apes and The Dark Tower remained perched at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, for the second consecutive week. Cars 3 debuted as the No. 3 rental.

Rounding out the top five were two other Sony Pictures releases, The Emoji Movie at No. 4 and Spider-Man: Homecoming at No. 5.
