Redbox Inks New Distribution Deal With Fox to Lower Rental Delay to One Week

13 Jul, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Redbox and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment July 13 announced a new agreement making Fox content available to Redbox customers seven days after retail release dates. The deal is similar to Redbox's recent renewal with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

“Our latest agreement with Fox continues to demonstrate a mutual commitment to providing consumers access to the freshest, best movies on the market at a great value," Redbox CEO Galen Smith said in a statement.

With more than 40,000 kiosks, Redbox’s nationwide footprint ensures broad availability of Fox product to rental consumers.

"Coupled with our extensive retail distribution, Fox movies are readily accessible everywhere,” said Dan Mackechnie, EVP of North America Distribution at TCFHE.

Redbox recently announced it is adding 1,500 new kiosks in 2017 and more planned in 2018. It also began selling new and previously rented DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles at select kiosks.
