Movie>Q, the automated movie disc rental retailer, reported a second-quarter (ended Dec. 31, 2015) operating loss of $148,000 on revenue of $68,000. That compares with an operating loss of $78,000 on revenue of $100,000 during the previous-year period.
Movie>Q, which is owned by Los Angeles digital production company Point.360, operates three locations in Orange County, Calif. Through the first half of the fiscal year, Movie>Q generated an operating loss of $282,000 on revenue of $129,000, compared with an operating loss of $183,000 on revenue of $193,000 during the previous-year period.
Using robot technology, Movie>Q offers consumer access to upwards of 10,000 DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles and video games via eight terminals in 24-hour retail locations. Movies rent for $1.99 daily.
