24 Jan, 2013 By: Chris Tribbey

Redbox is now selling live event tickets in the Los Angeles market, offering tickets to shows at Laugh Factory clubs in Hollywood and Long Beach, area concerts, nightclubs and more than 30 shows at eight Las Vegas resorts.

The DVD kiosk company first began selling live event tickets in October in Philadelphia. Redbox charges a $1 fee per ticket. Tickets can be reserved online and buyers can pick up tickets at will-call or print them at home.

“Redbox is a trusted brand and a connector to local communities,” said Redbox president Anne Saunders. “With the introduction of Redbox Tickets in Los Angeles, customers can now rely on us to discover great tickets to events and attractions from our trusted partners at a great value.”

Redbox inked agreements with Agile Ticketing, Paciolan, ShoWare, Ticketfly, TicketMob and Caesars Entertainment for Los Angeles events.

“As the market leader in data-driven event ticketing, Ticketfly is always looking for new ways to help our clients streamline operations and sell more tickets,” said Gannon Hall, Ticketfly’s chief marketing and product officer. “Our agreement with Redbox provides exciting new online and retail channels for venues and promoters using Ticketfly to reach consumers via a trusted brand in entertainment.”

The Caesars agreement will open up tickets to events at Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Flamingo, Harrah’s and other resorts. The TicketMob agreement will make tickets available for Improv Comedy Clubs and the Playhouse Nightclub in Hollywood, Calif., while the Paciolan agreement will cover sporting events.

"TicketMob is thrilled to be one of the very first launch partners of Redbox Tickets in Los Angeles," said Scot Richardson, TicketMob founder and CEO. "The ability to help our artists, venues and promoters on LaughStub, TuneStub and ElectroStub drive additional ticket sales with a vast retail network of consumers is a win-win."

Tickets to NASCAR events at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., and the National Hot Rod Association at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif., as well as tickets to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Hollywood Wax Museum, the Guinness World Record Museum and Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will also go on sale.

“We are excited to bring Redbox Tickets to Los Angeles, and to expand our events-industry relationships to more ticketing companies, event producers and venues,” said Mark Achler, SVP of new business, innovation and strategy for Redbox. “Redbox is truly a partner to the industry in marketing events to our customers who are eager to discover great live entertainment.”
