Shout! Factory Unveils 'Shout Select' Blu-ray Line

Indie distributor Shout! Factory has unveiled a new imprint called Shout Select for the release of cult favorite films on Blu-ray Disc, beginning this summer.

The line debuts Aug. 16 with the Blu-ray of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension as a collector’s edition with such extras as a comprehensive retrospective featuring brand-new interviews with members of the cast and crew.

Also arriving Aug. 16 is John Carpenter’s Elvis on Blu-ray with the complete uncut version of the biopic, which stars Kurt Russell as Elvis Presley, plus a “Bringing a Legend to Life” featurette and rare clips from “American Bandstand.”

Due Aug. 23 is Midnight Run on Blu-ray, with such bonus features as interviews with actors Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin, Joe Pantoliano, John Ashton and Yaphet Kotto, and writer George Gallo. 

September 2016 will bring Blu-ray collector’s editions of Road House and a “Bill & Ted” double feature of both Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
