Fox Searchlight Marks 20 Years With Home Entertainment Push

To mark the 20th anniversary of Fox Searchlight Pictures, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is embarking on a themed “We Have Your Story” campaign, offering titles from the studio for the first time on Blu-ray Disc, as well as anniversary editions and themed collections.

Anniversary titles with event celebrations include Crazy Heart (fifth anniversary), Garden State, Kinsey, Napoleon Dynamite, Sideways (all 10th anniversaries) and Boys Don’t Cry (15th anniversary).

Fox Searchlight titles making their Blu-ray debut include Johnson Family Vacation and Garden State (March 4), Once (April 1), Notes On A Scandal (April 29), The Deep End (May 6), The Ringer and Kissing Jessica Stein (June 3), and The Full Monty (Aug. 5).

The campaign — which will also include retail promotions, social media engagement, branded Digital HD storefronts with retailers and in-theater promotions — will wrap with a November boxed set of 20 of Fox Searchlight’s films plus an 80-minute documentary featuring directors and stars from the studio’s catalog of films.

A dedicated website, FoxSearchlight20th.com, is already off the ground.

“Fox Searchlight has been a creative and collaborative home for filmmakers who share our passion for storytelling and for taking audiences on unique and unexpected journeys,” Fox Searchlight presidents Nancy Utley and Stephen Gilula said in a statement. “We are extremely proud of all that Searchlight has accomplished in its 20 years, and we will continue to champion films that entertain and illuminate.”

In other 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment news, the studio has added nearly 20 new classic titles to it Fox Cinema Archives collection (with DVDs available via Amazon's manufacture on demand platform, as well as FoxConnect.com).

The films include Sodom and Gomorrah (1962), Esther and the King (1960), Dante’s Inferno (1935), Cardinal Richelieu (1935), I’d Climb The Highest Mountain (1951), The Gay Deception (1935), Bachelor Flat (1961), The Marriage of a Young Stockbroker (1971), The Pleasure Seekers (1964), Footlight Serenade (1942), Marry The Boss’s Daughter (1941), Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! (1948), That Other Woman (1942), Good Morning, Miss Dove (1955), Star Dust (1940), Decline and Fall of A Bird Watcher (1968), Kentucky (1938) and Forever Amber (1947).
