Amazon Studios Head of Content Roy Price Resigns18 Oct, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Embattled Amazon Studios’ head of content Roy Price has resigned after being suspended by the e-ommerce behemoth following allegations of sexual harassment.
First reported by TechCrunch.com and verified by CNN’s Brian Stelter, Price departed Amazon Studios following recent allegations by producer Isa Hackett (Amazon's “The Man in the High Tower”) regarding inappropriate sexual comments and working conditions.
Specifically, Hackett, who is the daughter of Philipp Dick, author of the novel behind “High Tower,” claimed Price repeatedly made sexual comments in addition to sexual propositions.
The allegations — first reported by The Hollywood Reporter — come amid ongoing industry fallout involving decades of alleged sexual misconduct by The Weinstein Co.’s co-founder Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein reportedly had a close working relationship with Price. Fallout continued as Amazon walked away from a mafia-themed series (produced by TWC) from Oscar-nominated director David O Russell (American Hustle).
