'Snow White' DVD Sells 1 Million Units on First Day

Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the debut disk in Disney's Platinum Collection line, has sold 1 million units on DVD, the company reported Wednesday.

Robert A. Iger, president and c.o.o. of the Walt Disney Company, said, "The SnowWhite DVD is a breakthrough product for the industry that redefines DVD bytaking the technology to a whole new level."

Robert Chapek, president of Buena Vista Home, added, "This tremendous response validates the innovative blend of creativity and technology that went into making this disc the greatest SnowWhite DVD possible. There is something for everyone on this DVD, making it a must-have for anyone's DVD library."

The Snow White DVD is the first release of a WaltDisney Home Entertainment Platinum Edition, the new collection of some of Walt Disney's greatest animated films. Available for a limited time, Snow White on DVD will be placed on moratorium onJanuary 31, 2002.
