HGV Video Changes Name To Anchor Bay

Canadian home video label HGV Video Productions, Inc., has changed its name to Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, Limited, the company announced today.

HGV has a long time association with Anchor Bay Entertainment, known for children's titles, fitness videos and suspense/horror videos.

In addition to its library of suspense/horror classics such as Halloween, Evil Dead and Manhunter, the company distributes one of the most popular children's video franchises, “Thomas & Friends.” This series has received numerous awards and endorsements and ranks consistently in the Top 50 chart of children's weekly video sales. Anchor Bay Entertainment is also strong in the fitness category, with such brands as the "Crunch" and "For Dummies" lines.

"HGV has been distributing Anchor Bay's vast collection of prerecorded video titles to the Canadian market for nearly 15 years,” said Jerry Woodburn, General Manager of Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, Limited. “As part of the Anchor Bay family, we are excited about the opportunity to further grow this label. Anchor Bay Entertainment has operations in the United States and the United Kingdom.
