Popcornflix, the online digital movie platform, June 14 said it is adding TV shows and specialty programming, including mixed martial arts (MMA) action from Hard Knocks Fighting, a Canadian-based fight promoter.

Popcornflix is an ad-supported platform and subsidiary of Screen Media Ventures LLC, an independent movie distributor. Popcornflix enables users to search movies by genre, actor or director and select from new releases or the site’s most popular most films. Each month, 30 to 40 additional feature-length films are added to the channel.

The new MMA programming features athletes from top camps in the world, including Jackson's MMA in Albuquerque, Team Tompkins in Las Vegas, Wand Fight Gym in Las Vegas, Extreme Couture in Toronto, Tristar Gym in Montreal and Team Quest in Oregon.

“Hard Knocks Fighting has been instrumental in promoting the sport of MMA,” Gary Delfiner, president of digital distribution for Screen Media Ventures, said in a statement.

Ari Taub, president of Hard Knocks Fighting, said Popcornflix gives viewers direct access to MMA action across mobile, online and streaming platforms.
