Vubiquity July 21 announced an agreement with Turner Broadcasting System to distribute the latter’s TV Everywhere content into the on-demand ecosystem.
Specifically, the pact enables the companies to develop technology that automates, tags and identifies post three-day broadcast (C3) and D4 (four days and beyond) content for VOD and dynamic ad insertion.
“Turner is a pioneer of TV Everywhere and shares in [our] mission to deliver premium content on demand that’s easily accessible to consumers and measurable through multiple platforms,” Gabriel Berger, EVP of sales with Vubiquity, said in a statement.
Beginning in September, Vubiquity will acquire live, high-quality broadcast feeds directly from Turner capturing C3 shows based on the linear schedule using a newly released SCTE specification.
The agreement aims to fill a void in the television industry by delivering this model for a next-generation management system, allowing networks easy and efficient capturing and processing of viewership. Consumers will have the option to watch more content, shortly after it first airs, potentially eliminating the hassle of recording shows on a DVR.
“With our increased focus on delivering our programming assets to as many platforms as possible and the imperative need to monetize this content, the partnership with Vubiquity facilitates our objective to streamline and virtualize our content distribution process,” Jennifer Mirgorod, EVP of brand distribution at Turner, said in a statement.
