Shout! Factory Teams With Time Life for 'Power Rangers' Boxed Set

Shout! Factory’s plans to release “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” on DVD include individual season sets available in stores and a multiseason boxed set available through direct mail via Time Life.

Starting July 30, Time Life will offer the 40-DVD Power Rangers: Seasons One-Seven boxed set through direct-response television and its website, timelife.com. The set will include all 145 original episodes from the 1993-95 run of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” covering three seasons. It continues with the 10 episodes of 1996’s “Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers” and an additional 183 episodes from 1996’s “Power Rangers Zeo,” 1997’s “Power Rangers Turbo,” 1998’s “Power Rangers in Space” and 1999’s “Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.” Extras include a retrospective featurette on the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” phenomenon and new interviews with members of the cast and the creative team.

Time Life will also offer a six-DVD set of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season One.

Due Aug. 21 on retail shelves will be Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season One Vol. One, a three-DVD set with the first 30 episodes of the show for $19.93. Vol. Two will be released later in the fall of 2012.

Shout! Factory in March reached an agreement with Saban Brands to distribute early “Power Rangers” and related properties.
