HBO Home Entertainment UK May 16 said it has inked a distribution deal with Wuaki.tv, the movie streaming service owned by Japanese e-commerce service Rakuten.

Under the agreement, Wuaki will sell episodes from HBO original series such as “Game of Thrones,” “True Detective”, “Girls”, “Looking”, “True Blood”, “Boardwalk Empire”, “Veep” and “The Pacific,” among others.

HBO earlier this month inked a subscription streaming deal with Amazon Prime Instant Video giving its U.S. subscribers access to past — not current — seasons of proprietary TV shows — excluding “Thrones.”

Indeed, outside of past seasons offered on disc or HBO Go — the premium channel’s on-demand platform — HBO content is not available outside the bundled pay-TV ecosystem in the U.S.

“The digital retail landscape is an exciting space right now, and this is a great time to be adding a company like Wuaki.tv to the growing list of places you can purchase HBO content. Wuaki.tv truly understands the value of the HBO brand,” Colin Smith, director of HBO International digital distribution, said in a statement.
