Black Friday: Best Buy Selling New-Release Blu-ray Combo Movies for $9.99

Best Buy Nov. 11 disclosed its official Black Friday featuring special deals on movies and TV shows on the cover — underscoring packaged media’s importance during the upcoming winter holidays.

Best Buy will open early at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving, closing at 1 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, and then opening again at 8 a.m. for Black Friday events.

The Minneapolis, Minn.-based consumer electronics retailer is selling DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 Blu-ray/DVD and Digital HD combo for $9.99 — 75% off the title’s $38.99 suggested retail price.

Dragon 2, which streets Nov. 11, is available on Best Buy’s CinemaNow digital platform now to buy for $22, and $4.99 to rent for 48 hours.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s Maleficent (Blu-ray plus Digital HD) combo will sell for $9.99 — 63% off the title’s $26.99 SRP. Maleficent was released at retail Nov. 4.

Other specials include 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray plus Digital HD for $9.99 — 75% off  its $39.99 SRP. The title was released at retail Oct. 14.

Warner Home Video’s The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Seventh Season three-disc DVD boxed set will also retail for $9.99 — 78% below its $44.98 SRP when it was released on Sept. 16.

Best Buy will also sell a Sony Blu-ray Disc player with built in Wi-Fi for $49.99 — 58% below its $119.99 SRP.

Finally, the retailer is also cutting prices on select 4K Ultra-HD televisions, including $900 off a Samsung 55-inch curved LED model; $100 off a 55-inch Vizio P-Series smart TV; $500 off a 55-inch LG 4K Ultra-HD unit and $1,500 off a 55-inch Sony 4K Ultra-HD smart TV.
