‘WSJ’: Netflix Not in Running for Hulu
11 Jul, 2011 By: Chris Tribbey
Citing unnamed sources, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that several companies, including Google, Amazon and DirecTV, have expressed interest in buying Hulu, but Netflix isn’t among them.
Yahoo and Microsoft were two of the other big-name companies that had expressed interest in buying the video site, which is co-owned by News Corp., Comcast’s NBC Universal and The Walt Disney Co., the Journal reported.
News that Hulu was courting buyers first broke in late June, with the Los Angeles Times reporting the site had hired two investment banks to help assist with a possible sale.
