'Avengers' Second Screen App Goes Live

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment have released a second screen application for The Avengers more than two months before the Sept. 25 Blu-ray Disc release.

The free application works with iPads, iPhones and laptops and synchs with the film while the Blu-ray is playing. It will also be packaged in the Blu-ray combo packs when they’re released.

The second screen application includes personnel files, interactive content with the film, comic book origins, behind-the-scenes content, the ability to link characters and scenes to their origins, and a list of major events in the Marvel movie universe.

The application is available through iTunes, and a PC version will be released soon.
