Retrevo: Expect Large 3DTV Price Drops

The premium price consumers can expect to pay for a 3DTV versus an HDTV of comparable size could drop to as little as $150 by the holidays, compared with 900 a year ago and $400 today, according to a new study by Retrevo, an online consumer electronics shopping site.

Retrevo reached its conclusions by comparing 3DTV models with comparable LCD, LED and plasma HDTVs from Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, LG and others. By Black Friday, large-screen 3DTVs could be priced less than $700, the firm predicts.
