comScore: YouTube Remains Top Online Video Site
15 Feb, 2011 By: Erik GruenwedelAs expected, Google-owned YouTube again dominated traffic for online video viewing, capturing 84% of all unique Web traffic in January, according to comScore.
Notable newcomer to the top 10 ranking was Sony Music’s Vevo.com, which generated 51 million unique music video viewers, in second place. Followers included Yahoo in third with 48.7 million, Viacom with 48.1 million, AOL with 44.5 million and Facebook with 42 million viewers.
Others included Microsoft with 38.1 million unique viewers, Turner Digital with 28.2 million and Fox Interactive with 25.4 million.
But it was Hulu.com that tracked the highest number of video ads watched at 1 billion, or 44.6 video ads per viewer.
The repurposed content aggregator co-owned by The Walt Disney Co., NBC Universal and News Corp. also ranked 10th among all online video sites with 24.9 million unique viewers.
