Warner Home Video will mark the upcoming 75th anniversary of 1939’s The Wizard of Oz this fall with a re-release of the classic film in 3D.

The film will play in 3D on Imax screens for one week beginning Sept. 20, followed Oct. 1 by the release of The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet.

The Imax version of The Wizard of Oz involves an extensive remastering of the film’s image and sound to Imax quality.

The limited edition, numbered 75th anniversary set will include all previously released special features, along with the new documentary The Making of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and new collectibles, such as a journal, a ruby slippers globe, a three-piece enamel pin set, a map of Oz and a 48-page hardcover book.

The 3D Blu-ray of 1953’s House of Wax also arrives Oct. 1 (order date Aug. 27). The film was originally shot using a 3D process similar to what is widely used today, and has been extensively remastered for high-definition.

The House of Wax Blu-ray ($35.99) also includes a 2D version, expert commentary, a new retrospective featurette, a featurette about the film’s premiere, and the 1933 film Mystery of the Wax Museum.
