Xbox 360 has added Best Buy’s CinemaNow movie service and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Crackle video network to its Live online entertainment network.
The new applications can be downloaded for free, and both applications offer voice-controlled features via the Xbox Kinect platform.
“Crackle is the single-best multiplatform source of free, ad-supported Hollywood films and television series,” said Phil Lynch, VP of digital networks and games at Sony Pictures Television. “By our continued emphasis on cross-platform distribution, we are bringing an unparalleled viewing experience directly to Crackle's target demographic of 18-to-34 males through their Internet-enabled devices.”
Crackle offers more than 200 films and more than 1,500 TV episodes.
“Our partnership with Crackle marks a significant milestone in our vision to bring you all the film and TV entertainment you want, shared with the people you care about, made easy,” said Pete Thompson, GM of Xbox Live.
