'Fifty Shades' Tops Amazon Digital Preorders

Mashable May 1 reported that Universal Pictures’ Fifty Shades of Grey racked up the biggest digital pre-order tally of all time on Amazon.com.

The film, which earned more than $166 million in U.S. theaters, is already available on Digital HD and is being released Friday, May 8,  on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.

According to Amazon, Fifty Shades is now No. 1 in digital preorders on Amazon Instant Video, ahead of Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy, American Sniper, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 and Maleficent.
