Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will release The Fate of the Furious on Digital HD June 27 and on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray July 11.
The eighth film in the “Fast and Furious” franchise has grossed $220 million at the domestic box office and more than $1.2 billion worldwide. That latest installment of the action franchise traverses the shores of Cuba to the streets of New York City to the arctic in a wide array of powered-up new vehicles on a mission to stop an anarchist from unleashing world chaos.
The film reunites cast members Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and Kurt Russell, plus newcomers Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron.
Extras on the DVD and Blu-ray include a commentary by director F. Gary Gray, extended fight scenes and an “All About the Stunts” featurette.
Three additional featurettes are exclusive to the Blu-ray editions, including “The Cuban Spirit,” about how the film was the first major studio production to shoot in Cuba in decades; “In the Family,” a look at the character conflicts; and “Car Culture,” putting viewers in the drivers’ seat of the film’s supercharged vehicles.
The 4K combo pack will include both the UHD and Blu-ray versions.
An extended cut of the film will be available through digital platforms, with a code for the extended cut available with the DVD and Blu-ray editions.
