Remastered 'Pee-wee's Playhouse' on Blu-ray in October

Shout! Factory Oct. 21 will release an eight-disc Blu-ray boxed set of 1980s kids show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” featuring all 45 episodes and the show’s Christmas special remastered in high-definition.

List price for Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Complete Series is $149.99.

In addition, each of the show’s first two seasons will be available the same day as separate four-DVD sets.

Created by and starring Paul Reubens, “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” featured the zany adventures of Pee-wee Herman and his friends as they visit his wacky playhouse. The show ran for five seasons from 1986 to 1990. Regular guest stars included Laurence Fishburne as Cowboy Curtis, S. Epatha Merkerson as Reba the Mail Lady, Lynne Marie Stewart as Miss Yvonne, Phil Hartman as Captain Carl, William Marshall as The King of Cartoons, John Paragon as Jambi the Genie, Vic Trevino as Ricardo and Suzanne Kent as Mrs. Rene.
