HBO Bows 'Thrones' Season 6 Teaser on Twitter

HBO Jan. 22 began offering special access on Twitter to a teaser of the upcoming sixth season of Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning “Game of Thrones.”

Interested Twitter users can tweet their “house” of allegiance to @GameOfThrones to unlock a teaser specific to their favorite family.

Through Twitter’s new auto reply feature, users who tweet #HouseStark + @GameOfThrones, #HouseLannister + @GameOfThrones or #HouseTargaryen + @GameOfThrones will receive the teaser for that house as a Tweet reply to celebrate the coming season, which debuts April 24 on HBO, HBO Go and subscription streaming service HBO Now.   

The fantasy drama from George R.R. Martin remains HBO’s most-popular original series, in addition to being a retail winner for HBO Home Entertainment.

The Game of Thrones: The Complete Fourth Season boxed set sold more than 1 million combined Blu-ray/DVD discs since its Feb. 17, 2015, retail release, according to The-Numbers.com. It was the fastest-selling boxed set in 10 years in the United Kingdom, beating Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season.

Game of Thrones: The Complete Fifth Season boxed set goes on sale March 15.
