Three die-hard fans of the series “24” broke a Guinness World Record Dec. 6, watching the series continuously in Hollywood for 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, which sponsored the event in anticipation of the Dec. 14 DVD release of 24: The Complete Series, surprised the three men with $10,000 each. Originally the prize money was to be split among the contestants who lasted the longest.
Kevin Coon, Victor Lopez and Farris Hodo outlasted 97 other fans of the series, who began the marathon session at the Hollywood and Highland shopping complex the night of Dec. 2. Every contestant received a copy of the DVD collection.
